From 2007-2011, Rocky McCorkle constructed a sequential photo series revolving around the life of marathon-widow, Millie Holden. Based on Millie’s own experiences of an event centered elsewhere, “You & Me On A Sunny Day” is a fictional story about the malleability of memory and the impact that media has on her way of life.
Technically, each image in the series is a large-format (8x10-inch) photomontage; each exhibition print is 40"x80". Using a specific combination of chrome and negative film, these full-focus images are comprised of up to 22 sheets of film.
The collection of still photographs below is part of a "silent film" composed of 120 images.
